A SUSTAINABLE HISTORY

RESPONSIBLE ALTRUISM & PHILANTHROPY for THE 21ST CENTURY

The Network of Change was founded in 2006 by our Executive Director Kasey Cox after he had an opportunity to live among those experiencing extreme poverty and harsh living conditions in slums and rural communities in the highlands surrounding Nairobi Kenya.

Cox, a long time forest ranger with the Department of Agriculture changed his role in the agency to accommodate more time working internationally and began seeking people to help him on his mission of promoting sustainable development and responsible altruism.

To date, the Network of Change has made progress with improving educational standards in Kenyan schools by providing computers, software, and solar arrays along with specialized computer training to faculty and students.

The organization has also arranged numerous volunteer projects working with our very successful “sustaining gardens” which have proven the feasibility of using drought resistant agriculture as a poverty reducing tool.

To list other milestones, in 2007 Network volunteers also:  Conducted repairs and expansions on schools, taught HIV/AIDS seminars, helped send young Kenyans to college, and provided books and supplies to schools.

The Network of Change has a remote field post at the base of the Ngong Hills in Kenya and is organized with a board of directors of four and more than two-dozen volunteer staffs and advisory members who hail from nations all over the world.  We are headquartered in Meeker, Colorado and are registered in the state as a 501c3 charitable organization.
