volunteer with us
Volunteers are vital to our projects. We recognize that the number of organizations offering "fee based" placements are increasing every day. In recent years, eco-tourism has boomed in countries across the world.
As a result, a number of good and some not-so-good organizations have emerged. You should be looking for an organization which is committed to safety, is reliable, and can give you a thorough explanation of what your placement fees are used for.
You'll find that The Network offers unique opportunities that you won't find with other placement providers. It's important to remember that we are an international non-for-profit organization, not an eco-tourist "business". You should expect to be treated as a trusted member of our staff.
Our volunteers receive a list of goals and objectives and constant guidance. You'll know exactly what you are expected to accomplish and have plenty of time to prepare for your work.
The placement fees you pay are used to fund our project work. Unlike anywhere else, Network volunteers are actually able to see their money being used to help with on-the-ground projects. You will leave your placement knowing that you have made a sustainable, long term difference. Placement fees start at $250 USD per week per person.Due to the current unstable political situation in Kenya, our volunteer placement program is suspended until further notice. We expect to begin accepting volunteers for Kenyan placements no later than December of 2008. For more information or to request a phone call from our one of our volunteer coordinators, please contact us.
Many of our past volunteers have profiles, photos, and blogs at the Network Community.
